Art doesn’t get much better than this. This painting gives great poetic expression to the mystery of life. No matter how many answers you have, there is always another realm of mystery beyond.

I remember seeing a stylized painting of a pumpkin many years ago and I had a similar feeling, thinking it was the work of a naif before I realized it was the work of a contemporary artist whose other work had stuck in my mind from an illustration in an art book showing an installation with mirrors and stuffed shapes with dots. Today, the last thing I want to see is another Kusama pumpkin art work. I know there is something to be said for obsession in art but to churn out so many copies of the pumpkin surely lessens the effect of the work.
