Diego Giacometti (1902-1985) was the younger brother of the more famous sculptor Alberto Giacometti. See wikipedia article for Diego Giacometti. The brothers shared a studio in Paris until Alberto died in 1966. With this sculpture, Diego had the idea that the bowl could contain birdseed.
